Lockdown 2020

Thanks to DANCE SIX-0’S dance artists and teachers, Debbie Lee-Anthony and Rosalind Conlon, we were able to continue seamlessly without a break on Zoom throughout 2020 and the start of 2021 providing a lifeline to many members who were clinically vulnerable. Moving to dancing online was a challenge for all.

However, we were able to produce several works during lockdown:

  • In our Own Time was filmed by Company members who created their own short dance films experimenting with different movements in different places.
  • Congress was a work that was due to be created and shown in Salisbury Cathedral as part of Wiltshire Creative’s Salisbury International Arts Festival in May 2020 by Australian Company, All the Queen’s Men. They collaborate with communities to produce transformative creative experiences that champion equality, social health and human connection. Instead, they worked with a range of community groups in Salisbury online and Company performed their own work as part of this.

#Daily Dance were fun films that were created by Company and Open Class members to bring everyone together and were published on our YouTube channel during the lockdown
