Head In My Bag

Choreographed in 2017 by the fabulous and outrageous Liz Aggiss, Head in My Bag has fast become our most well known and requested piece – pushing the boundaries and preconceptions of what’s expected of older people’s dance.

It was first performed by the Company at Joie de Vivre at Pavilion Dance South West in 2017, and Company then took the work to Elixir Dance Festival at Sadler’s Wells in July 2019 and the Ageless Festival in Leeds in October 2019.

Review from On:Yorkshire Magazine  ‘… a cheeky two-fingers-up piece on ageism called ‘Head in My Bag’, presented by DANCE SIX-0, when a row of punked-up dancers tipped the contents of their handbags upside down – along with all stereotyped associations – and rammed the bags on their heads, then rocked out blindly, with gleeful, snarling abandon.’

Producer of Elixir at Sadler’s Wells: ‘WOW! – I just want to say congratulations to DANCE SIX-0 for your outstanding performance last night. Please pass on my heartfelt thanks to the company for bringing their talent and dedication to the Lilian Baylis stage. We are very privileged to be able to programme work like yours.
